A Beautiful Companion

I was born in Alameda, California and was a stray cat in the neighborhood. Of course, I was the top cat. Then Christmas eve of 2000, it was a sunny Sunday, I was lounging on the chair of the second floor of the apartment complex where my surrogate/temporary Mom lived.
This strange woman approached me and called my name “are you Leo?” she said. My ears perked up, I jumped down from the chair, and rubbed against her legs. “meow, mrrr, mrrr” I said in greeting. I followed her to my temporary Mom’s apartment and waited outside the screen door.
A few minutes later, they brought me inside where they gave me a HUGE flea bath. I disliked this intensely, but managed to behave rather well during the ordeal. It worked because this strange woman put me in her car and we drove away across the Bay Bridge to San Francisco.
I yowled the entire time. I despise traveling and I hate cars. (How do humans put up with this nonsense?)
Thankfully, the car stopped, and I was taken to my new home. I became instantly quiet and verrrry happy.
My new digs was a fifth story apartment in San Francisco with great bay windows for viewing and a Southern exposure with lots of sun for sunbathing.
And I help my owner in her real estate business – I am very good at smoking the good people out.
How much better can a cat’s life get?
My very last home was in Scotts Valley, California. A two story house with lots of light and windows and fresh ocean air, the music of nature and birds. We lived above the tree line.
My companion humans miss me a lot already, please be kind to them. I’ll be waiting for them on the Rainbow Bridge so we can be together again. I loved them so very much and I know they loved me.
